Stamping with Wine Corks

I have two very artistic kids living in my house and Saturday night, when they were bouncing off the walls, Bill suggested I give them something quiet to do. So, I gave them some paints and some wine corks and they stamped away!

Bella got to stamp until she began stamping her tongue with the - thank goodness - non-toxic paints.

Boogie Bear stamped and stamped for a while. I finally put the brakes on his painting session when he 'drove' one of his cars through the paint and on my table.

Final Product:

How to make your own Wine Cork Stamps

Obviously, you can just dip your wine cork into paint and stamp circles or squiggly lines with just a regular cork, but you can also cut your cork into a simple shape your kids will adore!

First, choose a wine cork that has a smooth end. If you don't have a cork collection to choose from because you aren't a wine drinker, send your bottle of wine to me and I'll send you back the cork. : )

Next, draw your design onto the cork.

Finally, carefully cut the excess cork around your design away with a utility knife.

Now, you're ready to stamp!

I also made a star stamp for the kids.
